Key Capture Energy Welcomes New Regulatory Team Members
Since Key Capture Energy’s inception in 2016, we’ve been working to ensure that wholesale electricity markets are designed to take full advantage of energy storage’s potential. This week, we are pleased to announce that Rachel Goldwasser and Kenneth Galarneau have respectively joined as Director, Legal & Regulatory and Senior Manager, Market Design. Their contributions will be critically important as we work to make sure that energy storage has the opportunity to provide a wide range of services to the grid. Those services can only be provided if storage has a seat at the table – across stakeholder processes at the wholesale level, through proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and through regulatory policies enacted by legislatures and state commissions.
Prior to joining KCE, Goldwasser served as the Executive Director at the New England Conference of Public Utilities Commissioners (NECPUC), where she worked on behalf of the public utility commissions in the six New England states. Before that she practiced law at Orr & Reno, PA, in Concord, New Hampshire and served as a law clerk for the Honorable John A. Woodcock of the United States District Court for the District of Maine.
Galarneau was formerly a senior Manager at Direct Energy, representing the company’s interest in the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) stakeholder process, and previously spent six years at NYISO in analyst and market mitigation roles.
